Message preached Sunday, 29 November 2009
• John 3:6-8 • Galatians 5:25 • Galatians 5:16
Jesus uses the wind to describe a spiritual person
It’s in the wind
• Psalm 104:3
Walk in the wind (spirit)
Spirit in Hebrew is “Ruarch,” which is ‘wind,’ ‘breath’
Spirit in Greek is “Pneuma” which is wind, breath, current or movement of air
Wind-walkers!
• Galatians 5:16 • Ezekiel 37:9 • Acts 2:2
The nature of wind
You must know how to live like the wind
Wind is all pervasive (everywhere)
There is nowhere that air isn’t
Wind comes and it goes and it blows where it wishes
Wind is an unseen force of power that affects and influences every natural object on the earth
Wind is powerful and destructive and it can be slight and light
It can be a cold wind or a warm wind
Wind can come from any direction it likes and it can change its direction at any time it likes
Wind is an invisible force - unseen but felt
Every time you breath you take it in
It blows where it wishes
1. You flow with it
Nature tells you, fight against it and you lose. Life is hard.
2. You hear the sound of it
God is in the wind
• Acts 2:2
Listen for the sound of voices in the wind
3. You don’t know where it’s coming from or where it’s going
• Mark 16:17 • John 4:24
Outside the sphere of the spirit (which is the sphere of God) there is no reality
Only that which is spirit is real
If something is separated from the spirit it is dead
Supernatural phenomena follow those who believe supernatural phenomena
You should never follow signs, signs follow you
We don’t follow signs, signs follow us!
